The organisation and management structure of IMIBIC:
The governing bodies of the IMIBIC are: Governing Council, Executive Committee, Scientific Director, Deputy Direction, and General Manager.
The consultative bodies are: Internal Scientific Advidory Board, External Scientific Advisory Board, and Scientific Council.
Governing Council
The Governing Council is the highest governing, management and representative body of IMIBIC. Among its functions are:
To establish the rules by which research personnel and research groups will be allowed to carry out their research tasks at IMIBIC and to expressly grant this permission.
To approve the aggregate annual budget of income and expenses that each of the parties supporting its development plans to allocate to the fulfillment of its objectives, as well as the final figure executed.
To agree on the qualitative distribution of common operating expenses among the institutions involved in the development of IMIBIC.
To approve the annual report of activities carried out at IMIBIC.
To define the policies and strategic lines of research to be developed at IMIBIC.
To approve the Scientific Program of the Institute, which will be of a five-year nature, as well as the Annual Action Plan resulting from said program.
To appoint and relieve the Scientific Direction and Management. If the latter body exists, its appointment will be made at the proposal of the Scientific Directorate.
To appoint the members of the External Scientific Committee to be constituted to contribute to the development and evaluation of the scientific activities of IMBIC.
To approve the Internal Operating Regulations that will govern the relations and organization of the professionals who carry out their research at the Institute.
Any other that contributes to the fulfillment of the objectives of the Institute.

Executive Committee
In order to expedite the taking of certain decisions at IMIBIC, the executive Committee is constituted.
Functions:
Follow-up of the activity
Informing the Governing Council on the Plan of Activities/Scientific Objectives.
Approval of the portfolio of services and fees.
Review of the annual scientific report of results, prior to its approval by the Governing Council.
To authorize the signing of agreements related to IMIBIC's activities and which fall within its competence.
Monitoring the Activities, evaluating, in any case, the execution, operability and scientific results obtained during the same.
To review the evaluation of the research personnel and groups.
To monitor compliance with the criteria for the permanence of IRs/research groups (associated, emerging, etc.), informing the Governing Council of the results and proposing possible measures to be taken.
Financial Management
Analyze the budget proposal and its liquidation, prior to its presentation to the Governing Council.
Monitoring the Center's budget.
Appointments and Assignments
Report on the appointment/modification of the members of the External Scientific Committee.
To approve the incorporation of IRs and research groups, as well as to propose to the Governing Council their withdrawal, once the procedures established by each institution of origin have been followed.
To be aware of the termination of IRs/research groups at the request of the groups themselves.
To inform the Governing Council of the assignment of companies.
Organization and operation
To submit to the Governing Council proposals regarding the possible modification of the Internal Regulations.
To propose to the Governing Council the modification of the criteria for the assignment and permanence of research personnel to the Institute.
Approve operational improvement actions proposed for the Institute related to the reaccreditation process and submit them to the Governing Council.
General
Follow-up of the agreements and commitments reached at the meetings of the Governing Council.
Preparation, study and deliberation of matters within the competence of the Governing Council, to which it shall submit the corresponding proposals.
Any other matter expressly entrusted by the Governing Council.
In general, all the resolutions adopted by the Executive Committee shall be operative from the moment they are approved, although they must be ratified a posteriori by the Governing Council.

External Scientific Advisory Board
The External Scientific Advisory Board is a consultative body, appointed by the Governing Council, in charge of advising the Scientific Directorate, contributing to the development and evaluation of IMIBIC's scientific activities.
Funciones:
To advise the Governing Council, the Scientific Directorate and the Scientific Council on issues related to the operation of IMIBIC, the Scientific Programs, the incorporation of research personnel, the creation of research groups and, in general, on the scientific policy to be developed at IMIBIC, in accordance with the IMIBIC Scientific Project and its Strategic Plan.
To submit to the Governing Council a periodic report on the scientific activity of the Institute's research personnel, suggesting, if necessary, the pertinent modifications regarding its operation, its personnel, its space and infrastructure, its funding and lines of research, and even its Scientific Project.

Internal Scientific Committee
The Internal Scientific Advisory board is a consultative body, appointed by the Scientific Direction of the Institute, in charge of advising the Direction, being a fundamental part of the process of integration and dynamization of the members of IMIBIC. Its decisions are not binding. It is chaired by the Directorate and composed of research staff representing the priority scientific areas of the IIS, including representation of these in training.
Functions:
To advise the Management of the Institute on all scientific, strategic and organizational issues of the Institute.
To analyze and make proposals in all the plans and regulations of the Institute, especially in the Strategic Plan, including the integration plan and the training plan.
To monitor the activities of the Institute, especially in relation to these plans.
To validate the annual scientific report.
To propose to the governing body the annual scientific objectives to be achieved and the action plan to develop them.
To be the organ of participation of the research areas and groups in the scientific governance of the Institute.
Evaluate the quality of the proposals for project applications and human resources and establish their prioritization.

Scientific Council
The Scientific Council is a consultative body that assists the Scientific Director in his duties. Its decisions are not binding.
Functions:
To know and report on the proposal of Scientific Programs by the Scientific Management, prior to its submission to the Governing Council.
To know and report on the Scientific Project proposal by the Scientific Management, prior to its submission to the Governing Council.
To collaborate in its elaboration and to know, prior to its dissemination, the annual scientific report of IMIBIC's scientific and management activities.
To promote the incorporation of new projects within the approved areas and lines of research.
To report, prior to being proposed to the Governing Council, on the incorporation of research personnel and research groups at IMIBIC.
To report on proposals for the establishment of cooperation links with other institutions that will result in the achievement of the objectives of the agreement.
To know the annual budget and the annual financial report.
To be informed about the Internal Commissions at IMIBIC.
To collaborate in the elaboration and to know the policies in relation to the Training Plan.
To propose changes to the Internal Operating Regulations.
