IMIBIC is managed by the Foundation for Biomedical Research of Cordoba (FIBICO). FIBICO is linked to the Reina Sofia University Hospital and belongs to the network of Managing Foundations of the Andalusian Public Health System (SSPA).
The different management departments are shared by FIBICO and IMIBIC, and both report directly to the Scientific Director and General Manager of IMIBIC. The financial and general management of IMIBIC are overseen by the General Manager.
These units are ISO 9001:2015 accredited in 2023.
The mission of the IMIBIC R+D+I Management Area is to offer a comprehensive service to research personnel, both from research groups and from Clinical Management and Primary Care Units, through a one-stop shop: the Project Manager. Its main objective is to provide the necessary support to the professional so that there is an adequate management and development of their scientific projects, agreements, service provision contracts and donations, as well as their corresponding justification and closure before the funding bodies.

The objective of the management control and reporting team is to obtain and analyze the information that serves as a basis for the Scientific Direction and Management of the Institute for decision making. Likewise, being a transversal area, it provides support to the different management areas and research groups that make up the IMIBIC.

In addition, this area carries out the functions of Technical Secretary: management of any event to be held at IMIBIC facilities, whether considered internal or external, with the consequent reservation of rooms, budget tracking, travel arrangements, necessary technical means, attention and reception of visitors in the events organized by IMIBIC..., to ensure the success of the same.

The communication and protocol area has the task of positioning and promoting the image of IMIBIC as a national reference center in excellent science, giving visibility to the different research lines of the groups that make up the Institute and to the results of the same. This area is also the main link between the IMIBIC scientific community and the different social groups.
The communication and protocol team offers services to the research groups, management areas and the Institute's management team in their needs for external communication, scientific communication and dissemination, media management, event organization, internal communication, coordination of the RRI strategy, fundraising support, graphic design and audiovisual communication.
The RRI strategy, promoted within the framework of the European Orion project (Open Responsible Research and Innovation to further Outstanding knowledge) of the Institute, aims to encourage the active participation of society in science and innovation from the earliest stages of research projects in order to ensure that future results are as closely aligned as possible with social needs. In this sense, from the area of communication and protocol, actions are developed in the six lines of this strategy: ethics, governance, gender equality, open access, public commitment and health education.

The objective of the quality area is to ensure that the processes comply with the quality criteria imposed by the corresponding regulations, as well as to advise and support the research staff with the needs they may have in this regard. On the other hand, the training area promotes and develops training programs aimed at the professionals working at IMIBIC and the rest of the interest groups, in order to guarantee a permanent system of knowledge transmission of excellence, updated and adapted to each of the different groups of professionals that compose it.
